I am 61 and in reasonbly good condition - trying to improve through
regular exercise with my dr's concurrence.
In addition to regular workouts on my Total Gym I spend 45 minutes
daily on my elliptical trainer (Precor EFX) using variable resistance
and pedaling backwards about half the time.

Working the upper body while walking by
Don
I am not sure if this will help others,
but I have found a very simple
inexpensive way to work the upper
body while walking.
I use a pair of leather work gloves
and some rope about 7' in length.
As I am walking, I do presses (overhead,
incline, regular, decline, etc) and

A simple 30 minutes walk by
ferrywayes
A simple 30 minutes walk is very important for your body to keep it in fit and fine state. It doesn’t matter that you walk in early morning or late evenings, the fact remains the same. So adjust your busy schedule in a way that you can take up your 30 minute walking session on regular basis...

Walking for daily health by
June B
Coming from a family of walkers, and also married to a nationally ranked
racewalker, I enjoy walking for health.
How many here do that, and if so, how much do you walk and how do you
keep track of how far, etc.

Pain in feet after walking by
Bob[_9_]
If I walk about 1 mile I get a slight pain, greater distances then greater
pain. Often it last about four days, then I can return to walking small
distances sparingly 'cause it still hurts but not as much. I seen a doctor
and referred me for inserts after taking exray and seeing two heel...

Walk Away the Pounds by
Proctologically Violated®©
The only thing that boggles my mind more than poker on TV (and the hoardes
that apparently watch it) is Sansone's walk away the pounds.
First, it's not walking. It's less than walking. And walking is already
about the lowest baseline for fitness that there is--power walking, race
walking and...

Nike shoes have gone bad, seeking recommendations for new pair/ brand by
John Baker[_2_]
I am a frequent walker (sometimes jogger) who has been using the Nike Air
Max 360 for some time. I liked this shoe even for speed walking because of
the great cushioning it provided to my feet as most other shoes allowed
foot/ knee pain to develop. However, not sure of the reason, but the last...
