outsideinmi

increase my nearly-daily run from 45 minutes to nearly 60 minutes as
work permits, add in one long run per week of steadily escalating
length (maybe a 2nd...

I passed 2 guys after mile 1 and 1 more after mile 2. ...

Training week ending August 29 2010 by

Avaraging 15-16 miles per week, as usual. One long (6-7 miles), two
or three "regular" (4 mile) runs.
The heat and humidity in August was a challenge. With highs often in
the 90's, and dew-points often in high 60's and even 70's , first
thing in the morning was usually the only option. For a...

I've been running the Saucony ProGrid Ride for the last couple years.
It's a nicely-cushioned, neutral shoe. Works for me.

Am I ready for a marathon? by
d2
Jack wrote:
I ran 20 flat miles in 3:28. Am I ready for a marathon? How do I
know if I'm ready?
If you can recover from that in 3 or 4 days, you're probably ready. On
the otherhand, if it's 3 or 4 days afterwards and you still can't climb
stairs? You probably aren't ready.

Yes.
How do I know if I'm ready?
If you can run 20 miles at a pace which would extrapolate to faster than the
race cutoff time.
