Llanthony by Brian[_6_]
Hi, Does anyone know Llanthony Priory? Is it a suitable base for exploring the black mountains for a day (i.e. is there parking there, are the roads to get there OK, is it signed from a main road, are there footpaths leading from it)? Thanks for any advice! Brian.

I posted here recently asking advice about getting a Sat Nav which would enable me to get to out of the way car parks (which don't have a PostCode or even a known road name) for bird watching and rambles. Thanks for all your responses. I have eventually bought a Garmin Nuvi 205. It covers my...

Follow up to OS map 5m contours by Mike Mason
I did email OS and this is the reply Dear Mike Thank you for your e-mail dated 7th May regarding contour intervals on our 1:25 000 scale maps. The standard contour interval on our OS Explorer maps is 5 metres, but in mountain and moorland areas, this is often extended to a 10 metre interval.
