Does anyone know how to change categories in bulk in Memory Map? It seems to
me that you can only change them one at a time, which is a real pain. For example, if I create a category called trig points, then load a list of all the trig points in the UK, is there a way to import them all straight into the trig points category? Or select them all and change the category with a single click? Or another way of doing it? Paul -- http://www.wilderness-wales.co.uk/ http://www.wilderness-wales.co.uk/weblog/ |

If they are in .csv (comma-separated value) text format, one Mark per line, the category-name is specified by positional parameter (the 13th. parameter) for each Mark. You could insert the name in each line by a global-edit, assuming a unique positional context could be established for that parameter. If you imported them from some other format, you can export them to .csv format, do the edit and reimport them. I often use this export-to-csv / edit / reimport idea to overcome the limitations of the Route and Mark handling in MM, which has very few bulk operations available. -- GeoffC Take out TheEnemy to email me Website: http://v-g.me.uk Blog: http://v-g.me.uk/blog/ |

Thanks, I'll try that, I thought something like that may be the only way around it. Paul -- http://www.wilderness-wales.co.uk/ http://www.wilderness-wales.co.uk/weblog/ |
