Default Highland midge 'not moving south'

I walked through the woods north of Froggatt edge, and also through
Padley Gorge, in the Peak District, last Wednesday and the little
bu**ers made a meal of me . . . .

We're going up to Kielder Water at the end of the week.

Anyone know what the mossies are like up there or rather what they
don't like up there?!!

You could try "Jungle Formula" wipes. They are a bit like wet wipes.
Easy to carry easy to use and very effective.

But do they have dual use capability ?

I prefer the single use of midge repellent!

Yes, I'm suffering from itchy legs at the moment after my weekend at
Glenridding.

Also walking is a lot easier when you don't have to drink the stream
dry when you find one. It was rather hot most of the time.

Some pictures at www.therewaslight.co.uk/200807 Captions and more to
come. Real Life [TM] is getting in the way of PS and html.

Large amounts on Blencathra this week, nobody was spending much time at the
summit and going down Halls fell ridge was just as bad, none thankfully
though on Sharp Edge...
