Default Pool Buoy question- working on freestyle but sometimes tend tosink when practicing w/ this

Hi, I am trying to work on my freestyle. I have recently been using a
pool buoy- one thing i notice is that at times I feel like I am
sinking - could this be related to perhaps lifting of the head? im
trying to work on correct body position..
When i do a one arm drill where I swim with my right arm out , in
front and the right at my side, and just kick- i can do that, but when
I switch to my other arm, with my left arm out- i tend to have a
harder time with body balance. Any tips on working on balance? I
think that is what the issue is.. I have noticed though, that once I
do fist drills for a few laps, and then swim normal- my swim is
wonderful....seems like the fist drill works on blance?? Thanks

3 tips:

1 keep one eye in the water when breathing.
2 alternate sides
3 axial rotation is OK, vertical motion is bad
